Shut off the radio.
Shut it off! I hate
those foolish radio stars,
crooning over crushes,
it's so cliche and petty.
As if the all-consuming rush of sex
is the only thing that's important,
the only thing that's real.
What about the other hurts
That don't make the media?
The shudder of betrayal
when the puppy you love draws blood.
The fear that swallows you
When you learn you can't go to college.
Hating yourself for wanting to kill
someone else's dream because yours was murdered, too.
Who writes - who CAN write -
about the many personalized miseries of life?
Who gives us credit for surviving them?

I love the words "I love you"
But they've been cheapened by the times.
Every other song I hear
Rephrases it in rhyme.
Every other song I hear
Is of love for someone else,
But no one sings of the greatest love -
The song where I love myself.
I love my mind, I love my health,
I love thinking, and loving,
And being able to love myself.
And I couldn't love another soul,
Or any other living thing,
I couldn't bear the world at all
If I didn't have the pride to sing -
Love, love, love, love,
I love myself my body and soul.
Love, love, love, love,
I love my life and I'm never lettin' go!
I promise I'm not narcissistic,

Okay, I've been looking at some 100 Themes Challenge, and I know it's lame to post yet ANOTHER one, but this one is for me personally. I wrote down 100 of my favorite words in the english language without worrying about themes. You don't have to take a 'challenge' and draw stuff to these (but if you do, credit me!). Instead, you can just read through them and just let the words inspire you. I wrote it to remind myself on how words, just individually, are sometimes so beautiful that they can be a work of art in themselves (hence, you'll notice I created some new ones.) The point of all this: to enjoy! :)

lust and hunger for murder,
slack jaws, wide
eyes joyful.

through clean summer air,

the way life meets love,
quickly, consciously, brutally!
Eagerly.
His teeth and tongue and soul
Embrace flesh and fire and air.
He smells of lust and sweat,
and uses brief grunts of air through the nose
to convey his pleasure at being touched.
He rests with his hips spread apart on the floor
in a posture of perfect, exhausted sensuality.
In this deep satisfaction,
the rapid fire appeased,
the thirst quenched,
his hair

We are the People
In the sky blue Tipi
Our brothers the Animals
Our sisters the Green Ones
Our smoke pours up
Into the bright, wide eye
Which is our glimpse into Heaven.
We are the People
One People, under Heaven.

Hi! So...um, here's another journal entry! And I was just reading this thing by silentjustice, I added it to my favorites so please feel free to read it...it was really striking and beautiful. I've been stressed lately, but when I read that poem I remembered the beauty of a picture made with words. My reason for not uploading anything onto deviantart was because my scanner is a friggin' psychopath, but you don't need a scanner for words, so I promise to try and upload a poem at least once a week from now on. So, if anyone reads this entry, please read my poems/essays/stories when I post them, and please give constructive criticism, becau
um...hi. this is my first journal entry...EVAR. (and probably will be for a long time because school is still going and it's totally stressful.) So what am I doing online? Well, I started working on my essay, and realized that even though it's due two days from now, I really can do it! I totally get it! Bring it on, it's gonna be AWESOME! And so my brain thought, "Hm, not enough pressure." So I'm tootling around on deviant art waiting until the very last minute to write it. Yes. I have issues. >,>"
